CHEAP DOPAMINE
What do you get when you mix the grit of East Coast rock with the velvet smoothness of country-pop?
The answer is Cheap Dopamine the electrifying new single from Nova Scotia
rocker Andre Pettipas featuring rising Cape Breton country star Taylor Jensen. Clocking in at under 2:40 this track wastes no time delivering serotonin-soaked production and a genre-blending chemistry that will leave listeners looping it again and again. With clear nods to Savage Garden’s melodic sheen, Our Lady Peace’s emotional grit and the modern country stylings of Kacey Musgraves.

QUOTES
Taylor’s got the kind of voice that everyone wishes they had. It’s mature and smooth but can break up in all the right places - and on command.
The way Taylor molds country with a hip-hop melody vocally is unique. In the past year we have performed together live and will be collaborating again at my festival, Giantstock later in the summer.
This co-write came so naturally and just like “Cheap Dopamine” it was hard to not want to finish the track right away. We wrote it together a few hours before our last concert and two weeks and two studio sessions later the whole production is done and ready for a summer release. As I continue to jump between genres and create a sense of community with my music and events, I feel it is important to let these co-writes see the light of day as they happen. When inspiration sparks, it is best to fuel the fire.
- Andre Pettipas
Pettipas and Jensen confidently carve out a space in the blurred lines of pop-rock, alt-country, and modern indie. It's sleek. It's magnetic. And it somehow feels tailor-made for long summer drives, late-night dance sessions, and the little bursts of joy we all chase in a world that can sometimes feel a little too heavy.
